Mr. Mee Kasemsuwan was born on October 21st 1884 at Pomprapsatruphai District, Bangkok. He went to Debsirin School at 12 years of age. After graduating the high school, he entered a civil service as a pharmacist in one of the government drug store, “O-sot Sala” which had been set up in 1891 as a unit under the management of the Royal Rharmacy Department in King Rama V’s Reign. The store was placed under the supervision of an American missionary Dr. Thomas Hayward Hayes who was a physician and a specialist in medicine.

Despitebeing called “Moh Mee” (Moh means a physician), Mr. Mee Kasemsuwan was not a physician or a medical doctor. He was actually a pharmacist but people at that time called anyone with knowledge of medicine or healing “Moh”. That is the origin of the name “Moh Mee” which has become a well-known name since.

In 1898. Moh Mee resigned from the public service to start his own business by opening a drug store no Krung Kasem Road. He named the store “Boon Mee Dispensary”. The company had formulated and distributed the herbal drugs which were known as YaNutt, Ya Tri Ni Sing Hae, U-thai and Patavee which were sale to the public.

The plant has been expanded and relocated to the Bang pa-in Industrial zone of Ayutthaya province. The new production facility and process have been developed to improve the capacity and quality so as to comply with the standard of production and GMP. Moreover, the new plant had to protect the external environment in terms of air & water pollution and contamination. In 2018, the plant was adapted to the new PIC/S standard under GMP 2555’s Act. The new production process had been developed from the procurement of raw material to finished product.
